Description: Preservation of Asante Traditional Buildings, Ashanti Region.
Type of Work: The World Heritage Volunteers Project on the Asante Traditional Buildings will focus on climate change adaptation and digital preservation. Volunteers will assess vulnerabilities, reinforce structures with sustainable materials, and implement water management systems to protect against erosion. They will gain skills in climate impact assessment and conservation, working alongside international volunteers, site managers, and the local community. Best practices will be shared through interactive workshops and non-formal education.
For digitalization and innovation, volunteers will use 3D scanning and digital archiving tools to document the buildings’ architecture and symbolic motifs. They will create virtual tours and multimedia content to enhance global awareness. Skills in 3D modeling and heritage documentation will be developed, with site managers ensuring authenticity. The community will contribute cultural insights, strengthening local engagement. These efforts will support the long-term protection, preservation, and promotion of the Asante Traditional Buildings.
Study Theme: Sustaining Youth Interest in Preserving Cultural Heritage Property for Posterity.
Accommodation: Volunteers will stay in an accommodation equipped with electricity and toilets facilities.

Requirements: Volunteers are expected to book for their participation in the programme at least two weeks to the commencement of the camp.
Location: Kumasi, Ashanti Region
Notes: In all the workcamps, volunteers may be required to clearn where they live.
Participation fee will cover the following:
– Accommodation during workcamp
– Accommodation before workcamp
– Food (local food-3 times a day during workcamps)

Paticipation fee does not cover the following:
– Airfare
– Visa and visa extension fee
– Airport taxes

– Communication and internet services
– Personal expenses on food and travel, mineral water and soft drinks
– Health and Travel Insurance, Medical Care and Personal Medicine.
